The Endevco Model 72 Series piezoresistive accelerometers from Meggitt Sensing Systems, San Juan Capistrano, CA, are high-g, SMT-mountable devices for high-reliability acceleration, vibration, and shock measurements. Measurement range is 20,000 g. Features include broad frequency response down to DC, min. zero shift post-shock event, a Class 3 ESD rating, and a weight of 0.16 g. The sensor uses a monolithic, 4-active-arm bridge circuit design and its MEMS sensing element has light gas damping to attenuate resonance as well as mechanical stops to increase ruggedness and reduce the likelihood of breakage under overload conditions. Applications include measuring long-duration shocks for automotive, aerospace, and general test and measurement.
