Sensors Keep An Eye On Diverse Particulates

EMX Industries’ PMX sensor detects a change in light transmissions caused by smoke, dust and other airborne particulates. Viable for industrial and commercial-kitchen ventilation applications, the transmitter is mounted up to 30 feet from the receiver module, then aligned to focus the light onto the receiver. The illumination level is adjusted for the distance and light transmission range necessary for the specific application.

PMX features include a 2-digit display of signal strength, a PNP/NPN output with automatic selection, and a 0 to 5V analog output for remote monitoring. Two styles are available: circuit board only configuration for OEM applications and NEMA 4X housings to protect the components while providing a durable window for light transmission measurement.
