GRAZ/MUNICH, Germany-- SensorDynamics, manufacturer and supplier of micro and wireless sensor products, has entered into a license agreement with EnOcean GmbH on the patented energy harvesting wireless technology for automotive usage. EnOcean's leading energy harvesting technology allows drawing energy from environmental conditions—movement, light or changes in temperature—via miniatiurized energy converters and generators in combination with wireless data transmission. This technology already established in the industrial and building market since several years opens new opportunities for green—wireless and battery less—applications.
By securing this leading technology for the automotive market, SensorDynamics will now offer fully integrated energy harvesting product solutions to its automotive customers worldwide. The essence of this new product family is the SD341 transceiver system specially designed for automotive energy harvesting applications. With this product, SensorDynamics enables battery less remote sensing e.g. in tyre pressure monitoring systems.
"This co-operation with the market leader in energy harvesting with its strong international IP portfolio, gives SensorDynamics the opportunity to introduce the first energy harvesting wireless platform for automotive applications. This strengthens both the companies and it is a great base to address urgent market needs for green applications in the automotive market. The agreement enables SensorDynamics to offer a complete integrated wireless energy harvesting system solution", says Robert Saurug, Director of the Wireless Sensors division of SensorDynamics.
