Seebright Reveals Industry's First Smartphone Integrated AR/VR Head-Mounted Display Platform With Wireless Controller

SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- Emerging from stealth, Seebright, Inc. today revealed its affordable see-through head-mounted display platform and software development kit (SDK). Seebright's unique interactive platform uses innovative optics to extend popular smartphones with an ergonomic headset. The untethered headset delivers crisp stereoscopic images and 3-D graphics without blocking the user's peripheral view, hiding facial expressions, or limiting mobility.

Seebright's headset supports both augmented reality and virtual reality (AR/VR) with immersive and see-through swappable eyepieces. The platform includes the industry's first companion wireless controller that supports precise user control, ideally suited for both AR and VR.

"We imagined a head-mounted display that leaves your eyes open to the world around you," said John Murray, CEO and co-founder of Seebright. "With a mix of unique engineering in optics, electronics, software and ergonomics the Seebright Platform enables enhanced reality in both AR and VR, affordable for everyone, accessible anywhere they go."

After demoing Seebright's prototype, Trak Lord, Head of US Marketing at Metaio, an augmented reality software and solutions company, called the new platform "an incredibly innovative use of Smartphones to achieve the missing link in wearable form factors."
