The RC500 from Honeywell Process Solutions, Phoenix, AZ, is a modular and scalable controller that integrates with SCADA technology to give tighter control of remote operations. Designed to withstand harsh environments, the RTU features an open communication platform that integrates seamlessly with the company's Experion Process Knowledge System, an embedded Linux platform, models with flexible communication ports and protocol options, support for Modbus and DNP3, data logging capabilities with the option to record I/O values and log them into data files, self-resetting fuses, an independent watchdog function for health monitoring, an Ethernet I/O-2 module, and capability for peer-to-peer I/O transfers.
