The AD7264 from Analog Devices Inc., Norwood, MA, integrates 2 SAR ADCs, a PGA, and 4 comparators on a single chip. Each ADC provides throughput rates up to 1 Msps. The onchip PGA accepts a true differential analog input and supports 13 programmable gain settings from 1–128. Of the 4 onchip comparators, 2 are optimized for low power and 2 for short propagation delays. The AD7264 is designed to simplify industrial motor control designs, by enabling a single standardized DA board to be used in industrial motor drives.
