Providing eight serial ports configurable for RS-422 or RS-485, Sealevel Systems offers the 7802e PCI Express interface adapter for high-speed serial designs. Software compatible with legacy UART apps, the board's 16C950 UART includes 128-byte FIFOs and supports 9-bit framing. The 7802e comes with SeaCOM software for Windows and Linux operating systems, and WinSSD, a full-featured application for testing and diagnostics including bit error rate testing (BERT), throughput monitoring, loopback tests, and test pattern message transmissions.
