FLEET, U.K. -- Rohde & Schwarz UK has acquired HAMEG UK to further grow the offering of general purpose test equipment to its customers.
"This acquisition gives UK HAMEG customer's access to Rohde & Schwarz' local customer support and service centre," said Richard Bloor, Business Development Manager of Rohde & Schwarz UK. "Customers will greatly benefit from our commitment to customer care and local sales support; our UK service centre will also assure all existing product warranties."

HAMEG GmbH, which manufactures T&M equipment, was bought by Rohde & Schwarz in 2005 with the aim of expanding Rohde & Schwarz's product portfolio in the lower price segment. The HAMEG brand name was retained and the business has operated as an independent subsidiary of Rohde & Schwarz since. The distribution of HAMEG products in the UK has always been contracted to privately owned companies; this acquisition brings the products of HAMEG into the worldwide Rohde & Schwarz sales network.
