Ring-redundant Ethernet Switches from CyberResearch
CyberResearch Inc.

ESW 405 Series 10/100 Mbps Ethernet switches from CyberResearch Inc., Branford, CT, are ring-redundant devices that read the header frame of each Ethernet packet to discover how and where to forward it, providing redundancy and increasing available bandwidth. The ESW 405M has a heavy-duty aluminum case while the ESW 405P has an industrial plastic case. Both styles are functionally identical and have 5 RJ-45 Ethernet ports and an RS-232/485 port, 2 independent DC power supplies, and legends printed on the sides of the cases for case settings and LED meanings. The switches can detect a break in a ring and route relevant signals around it.
