Measuring 2 mm x 1.25 mm x 1 mm in a surface-mount package, the VEML6040 digital RGBW sensor employs Filtron technology for accurate color spectral sensitivity while providing ambient light sensitivity with responses close to that of the human eye. The device incorporates photo-pin-diodes and an I²C interface. Specs include detection from 0.0056 lx to 11.7 klx, allowing the device to operate in applications with dark lens designs, fluorescent light flicker immunity, a shutdown power of less than 1 µA, and temperature compensation stability from -40°C to +85 C.
