LOG-IC RFID tags from American Thermal Instruments, Dayton, OH, combine an RFID tag with a temperature sensor and memory for use in cold chain management. The reusable tag has a measurement range of –40°C to 85°C with ±0.5°C accuracy, up to 64 Kb of memory, battery life of up to 3 yr. in recording mode, weighs 5.7 g, and is 5.8 by 5.8 by 0.2 cm in size. A mobile handheld reader lets you scan and view the LOG-IC tags without opening boxes and integrated software provides graphs, charts, data, and reports viewable on the reader and a PC.
