Addressing the need for more affordable mid-range RF test-and-measurement solutions, the TSG4100A series vector signal generator (VSG) is the first from a tier-one vendor with a price point of less than $15,000. The series includes three models with carrier frequencies from DC to 2 GHz, 4 GHz, and 6 GHz. The instruments provide spur-free outputs with a phase noise figure of -113 dBc/Hz at 1 GHz, an amplitude accuracy of less than ±0.4 dB at 1 GHz, 0 dBm CW signal from +16dBm to -100 dBm level range, and a frequency resolution of 1 μHz at any frequency. An oven-controlled crystal oscillator time-base provides a less than ±0.002 ppm temperature stability and leass than ±0.05 ppm aging stability. The TSG4100A series is available now with prices starting at $7,300 for entry level configurations. A mid-level vector 4 GHz signal generator is priced at $9,320.
