The EOTec 2104 industrial Ethernet ring switch from Weed Instrument Fiber Optics Div., Round Rock, TX, has been FM approved for operation in Class I, Div. 2 hazardous locations. The switch is preconfigured for ring redundancy and offers virtual plug-and-play performance for startup and commissioning and features self-healing ring topology. Recovery time is 30 ms +5 ms/hop. The switch also allows for real-time data transfer with IEEE 802.3 Ethernet compliance. Plug-in expansion modules are available for additional copper/fiber ports, as are universal redundant power supplies.
