PXIe Radio Test Set Handles Emerging Communications Devices

The Keysight M8920A PXIe Radio Test Set has a scalable modular architecture for efficient and complete test development and execution needed for manufacturing and radio maintenance depot environments. It also supports general-purpose measurements and commercial standards (e.g., LTE, WLAN, and Bluetooth) to test military communications (MilCom), Land Mobile Radio (LMR), and avionics radio systems. The test set offers audio and RF frequency coverage from 100 kHz to 6 GHz and a modulation bandwidth up to 160 MHz for generation and analysis of simple to complex waveforms used in emerging LMR and aerospace and defense MilCom applications.

Additionally, the test set supports many formats by combining PXI hardware with application-specific software in a single flexible and scalable chassis, providing broad multi-format coverage for next-generation radio testing. The M8920A's graphical user interface allows access and control of multiple instruments on one screen while viewing a variety of critical measurements at the same time. This Keysight solution helps deliver the operational excellence customers expect from their radios.

The N9093 radio test software provides fast one-button measurements for analog/digital radio test measurements, and supports multi-touch screen operation with touchscreen monitors. The N9093 software also offers a variety of tools to make analog demodulation faster, easier, and more accurate. Optional digital testing for APCO25, TETRA (Terrestrial Trunked Radio, formerly known as Trans-European Trunked Radio) I, and dPMR radios.

Keysight has partnered with Avionics Interface Technologies (AIT) in offering two PXI Avionics Interface Bus Modules to address the needs of avionics communications customers. The M3406A MIL-STD 1553 Interface Module and the M3407A ARINC 429 Interface Module, which can simulate and monitor with record/playback of bus traffic for verification of avionics data communications equipment.
