For tight-quarter designs, the ZL8801 dual-phase, DC/DC digital PWM controller comes in a 44-pin, 7 mm x 7 mm QFN package. Used with the company’s PowerNavigator graphical user interface (GUI), the device also promises to ease system power conversion and speed up the design process. Features include a dual-phase output for high current apps, compensation-free modulation technique, 1% output-voltage accuracy over line, load, and temperature, single input supply operation, 5V, 80-mA LDO for external driver supply voltage, a 200-kHz to 1.33-MHz switching frequency, SnapShot fault logging capability, adjustable cycle-by-cycle inductor peak current protection, and a wide range of output voltages from 0.54V to 5.5V operating from input voltages from 4.5V up to 14V.
