KFG pre-wired 1-axis strain gauges from Omega Engineering Inc., Stamford, CT, are available in a variety of different models to cover most strain measurement applications. The gauges are encapsulated, the measuring grid is of etched Constantan foil sealed in a polyimide film carrier medium. The general-purpose strain gauges are suitable for static and dynamic measurements. The KFG series is especially useful for automotive testing and for test laboratories and structural analysis. Standard strain gauges have temperature coefficients matched to either steel or aluminum.
