Embarking as the latest addition to the OKLP range of Power Block products, the OKLP-X/60-W12A-C is a 60A component that sits between a discrete Point-of-Load (PoL) design and that of a complete non-isolated buck converter module. It is essentially a non-isolated buck converter without the PWM controller that allows engineers to achieve the highest efficiency and maximum possible power and current density while maintaining a high performance system at a lower cost when compared to a complete module design approach. Most analog or digital PWM controllers can be used with the Power Block. Reference designs are available using Texas Instrument’s TPS40425 (2-Phase, Stackable PMBUS Synchronous Buck Controller. Features include a regulated 0.6 to 3.63 Vdc output up to 60A from a 7 to 13.2 Vdc input, efficiency of 95% rated at 12 Vin and 3.3 Vout, dimensions of 25.4 mm x 12.7 mm x 12.2 mm, and a power density up to 481W per cubic inch. Pricing in OEM quantities $10.20. A datasheet is available at http://www.murata-ps.com/datasheet?http://www.murata-ps.com/data/power/oklp-x60-w12a-c.pdf
