The MUP400 from Novotechnik U.S. Inc., Southborough, MA, is a signal conditioner for position measurement that offers 16-bit resolution and ±0.01 of range +1 digit accuracy. The computer-controlled signal conditioner is used to convert potentiometric input signals into standardized voltage or current signals. The device supplies the position sensors with a constant, highly stable voltage; sample rate is up to 5 kHz. Output is either 0–10 V or 4–20 mA, set using a DIP switch. Pushbutton autocalibration lets you set offset and span; span can be limited to 80% of the total input range. Temperature drift is 25 ppm/K, working temperature range is 0°C–60°C, and supply voltage is 18–30 VDC.
