This Sony global shutter sensor provides high image quality. This reportedly becomes particularly apparent when used in poor lighting conditions or while taking images of fast-moving objects. According to IDS, the 1/3-in. sensor is a viable alternative to the discontinued ICX445 CCD sensor.
