The Endevco Model 7287 from Meggitt Sensing Systems, San Juan Capistrano, CA, is a small-footprint, very low mass piezoresistive accelerometer weighing <1 g and designed to measure long-duration transient shocks, such as those found in product and packaging drop testing, shipping container shock testing, jack hammer testing, and high-g destructive testing. Measurement range is 2000 g, F.S. output is 200 mV, resonance frequency is >20,000 Hz, frequency response is DC to 4000 Hz at ±5%, and nonlinearity is <1%. The sensor has a MEMS sensing element with integral mechanical stops and features minimum damping and ruggedness to 10,000 g shock.
