Passive RFID Tag Ensures Secure Toll Collecting

Honeywell’s IT70 passive RFID tag enables secure vehicle identification while preventing counterfeiting, spoofing or exposing customer data to unauthorized users. Viable for highway tolling applications, electronic vehicle registration, vehicle access, and payment, the tag can be read at ranges up to and exceeding 10m and at vehicle speeds in excess of 160 KPH (100 MPH). Since it is fully passive, the IT70 requires no maintenance once applied to a windshield. Features include up to six access keys, cryptographic encryption support with the ability to perform AES-128 functions three times faster than comparable tags, operating temperatures from -40°C to +85°C (-40°F to +185° F).
