SAN JOSE, CA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Validity Sensors, Inc., a privately held biometric company specializing in high quality durable fingerprint sensors, announced a strategic partnership with Cogent Systems (Nasdaq: COGT) to develop high performance, low cost fingerprint sensor solutions. Cogent Systems is a leading provider of automated fingerprint identification systems, or AFIS, and other fingerprint biometric solutions to governments, law enforcement agencies and other organizations worldwide. The partnership has already yielded the integration of Validity's LiveFlex fingerprint sensors with Cogent's fingerprint reconstruction and matching algorithms.
Validity's ground breaking dual-line-imager (DLI) sensor, VFS201, is the first result of the Validity/Cogent partnership. The sensor utilizes Cogent's reconstruction technology and is also designed to work with Cogent's matching algorithm. The VFS201 offers the same LiveFlex durability as Validity's previous sensor, but in a significantly smaller exposed swipe area, comparable with more traditional swipe sensor dimensions.
