The EPA-compliant Model PM 100 from FilterSense, Beverly, MA, is a multichannel continuous particulate emission monitor and baghouse leak detector. The device incorporates automatic zero and span checks and has internal self-checks for the induction-sensing and protected-probe technologies used to monitor particulates. As particles flow near and around the probe, a tiny current is induced which is processed into an absolute output relative to particulate flow. A protective layer over the probe works with induction sensing to ensure reliable operation with conductive particulates, moist powders, corrosive gases, and particulate buildup.
