The Orientus from Advanced Navigation Pty Ltd., Claremont, Australia, combines temperature-calibrated accelerometers, gyroscopes, and magnetometers with a sophisticated fusion algorithm to deliver accurate and reliable orientation data and to control dynamically unstable platforms. The sensor offers temperature-calibrated dynamic ranging sensors; 3 different range levels for the accelerometers, gyroscopes, and magnetometers; an internal filter that runs at 1000 Hz; and it can output data at 1000 Hz over high-speed RS-232. The device is offered as either a heavily ruggedized version or as an OEM version for integration into customer products. The ruggedized version has a precision marine-grade aluminum IP67-rated enclosure and is shockproof to 2000 g.
