Optocoupler Interfaces Intrinsically Safe Circuits
Standex-Meder Electronics

Primed for intrinsically safe circuits and harsh environments, The company’s latest ATEX optocoupler is tested and certified for extreme/harsh environments such as potentially explosive atmospheres. This is so they will not become an ignition point when subjected to short circuits or adjacent component failures. Features include galvanic separation between input and output circuits, making both analog and digital signal transfers possible, isolation resistance between input and output is up to 10e+13 Ω, and input and output differences up to 20 kV. Also, the optocouplers are able to invert the output signal during transfer.
