Optical Analog Isolation Amplifiers Achieve High Accuracy

Optical Analog Isolation Amplifiers Achieve High Accuracy
Toshiba America Electronic Components, Inc.

The TLP7820 and TLP7920 optical coupled isolation amplifiers integrate a delta-sigma a/d converter. As a result, they can detect small electric current and voltage fluctuations with high-precision, and are suitable for use in industrial equipment applications, including inverters, servo amplifiers, robots and power supplies. With the converter at the input side, the devices achieve a linearity of 0.02% typical at NL200 for analog outputs and 3LSB typical at INL for digital outputs. The amplifiers also secure a Common-Mode Transient Immunity (CMTI) value of 20 kV/μs, enabling stable operation in electrically noisy environments. Operating temperature range is -40ºC to +105ºC.
