The OUSAF11 from Endress+Hauser Inc., Greenwood, IN, measures the optical absorbance of a process fluid. The device emits light in both the visible and near-IR regions; an optical sensor mounted in the sensor head measures the absorption by the process fluid. Features include immersion and insertion models; a body constructed of 316L SS and a measuring head constructed from FEP fluorocarbon film; and the ability to operate continuously in fluids up to 194°F and up to 266°F for up to 2 hr., allowing its use in hot CIP processes. The sensor can be used with the company's Memograph CVM40 graphic transmitter and recorder. Applications include product loss detection, interface detection, and suspended solids and turbidity measurements.
