HMS Industrial Networks, Chicago, IL, has extended the functionality of its Anybus X-gateway family with an OPC server. The OPC server connects PC-based OPC-client applications through standard Ethernet networks and the X-gateway to all major fieldbus networks. Anybus X-gateways interconnect almost any two industrial networks and provide a transparent pass for I/O data and parameters between the two networks. The OPC connectivity feature is available for 19 industrial Ethernet to fieldbus versions of the gateway family with >50 combinations to choose from. The OPC server supports OPC Data Access v1.0, 2.05, and 3.0 and features access to process data, an OPC tag editor, and an online viewer/editor.
