Nordson EFD Receives 2013 ASI Readers' Choice Award

East Providence, RI - Nordson EFD, a Nordson company announces that it has received the ASI 2013 Readers Choice Award from Adhesives & Sealants Industry magazine for its PICO® 500Hz Dispense Valve. This is the third award for innovation received by EFD in 2013.

"Innovation truly drives the success of the adhesives and sealants industry, and we created the ASI Readers' Choice Awards to celebrate all of the industry's hard work and ingenuity," said Susan Sutton, editor of Adhesives & Sealants Industry magazine. "ASI readers and the online community voted for their favorite product. I am thrilled to announce that Nordson EFD received the most votes in the Equipment category."

Nordson EFD PICO Valve versus Traditional Valve

Released this year, Nordson EFD's PICO 500Hz valve dispenses at continuous speeds up to 500Hz (cycles per second), which makes it the fastest piezoelectric valve available. Using high tech, robust, durable piezoelectric actuation technology, this non-contact valve applies precise and consistent amounts of fluid, as small as 0.5 nanoliters, with exceptional deposit accuracy and superior process control for the most challenging applications. Because PICO valves do not touch the substrate, they can dispense on uneven surfaces and be used for products with small components, tight tolerances, or hard-to-access areas. The system is compatible with a wide range of fluids, including adhesives, lubricants, and industrial fluids, for a broad range of applications in the medical and electronics industries.

"We are extremely pleased to receive this award for our PICO valve," said Claude Bergeron, product line manager for Nordson EFD who accepted the award, "because it was voted for by people in the industry who actually use or are familiar with dispensing valves and adhesives and sealant equipment. Recognition like this is validation of how seriously we listen to and try to accommodate customer needs."
