Multiple-Output Regulator Drives Automotive LCDs

Multiple-Output Regulator Drives Automotive LCDs
Allegro MicroSystems Inc.

AEC-Q100 qualified, the A8603 multiple-output regulator for powering automotive LCDs operates with a fixed switching frequency, programmed or synchronized with an external clock signal between 350 kHz and 2.25 MHz. This promises to minimize interference with AM and FM bands. An I²C serial interface allows a system microcontroller to configure the A8603 by writing to its internal registers. A system controller can also access its status registers in case of fault conditions. Available in a 24-pin, 4 mm x 4 mm QFN package, price is $1.65 each/1,000. A datasheet is available at
