Motorola Drives Automotive Control to Continental

(BUSINESS WIRE) Motorola has agreed to sell its automotive electronics business for roughly $1 billion in cash to German automotive company Continental AG. Continental will receive Motorola's controls, sensor, interior electronics, and telematics businesses, which will be integrated into its Automotive Systems division. After clearing the customary closing and regulatory conditions, the transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2006.
