The MAXQ7667 from Maxim Integrated Products, Sunnyvale, CA, is an automotive mixed-signal microcontroller for ultrasonic sensor applications. The integrated DA system is 7 by 7 mm and integrates the main functional blocks required to accurately measure position, including burst control, analog echo reception, DSP, and a microcontroller. Features include a programmable burst-frequency generator; an echo receive path with variable gain amplifier, 16-bit ΣΔ ADC, digital bandpass filter, and digital demodulator with lowpass filtering; an integrated 16-bit, 16 MIPS microcontroller; a general-purpose ADC, and a LIN-compatible UART. Applications include automotive electronic parking assist and park-distance control as well as industrial processing, automation, and handheld position measuring.
