The Type 6188A miniature combined pressure and temperature sensor from Kistler North America, Novi, MI, measures cavity and contact pressures and temperatures at the same point within injection molds for plastics injection molding and related QA applications. The sensor incorporates a piezoelectric pressure sensor for cavity curve pressure measurements up to 2000 bar, an integrated series of Type K thermocouples for melt direct-contact temperature measurements up to 450°C at the front of the sensor; a diaphragm-free, 1 mm dia. flat-front design; and a proportional electric charge from the pressure sensor that is converted into a 0—10 V signal and available as an amplifier output.
