ML7 Series photoelectric sensors from Pepperl+Fuchs Inc., Twinsburg, OH, are now offered in IP67 and IP69k protection classes for use in harsh environments in food and beverage industries. The IP69k-rated housing protects against water-jet pressures up to 1450 psi and temperatures up to 80°C required to clean equipment in meat, fish, poultry, and dairy processing. The sensors are also ECOLAB-certified as compatible with the cleaning agents used in high-temperature, high-pressure jet water spray cleaning applications. The sensors are 31 by 23 by 11 mm and are available in diffuse, diffuse with background suppression, retroreflective, retroreflective for clear object detection, and throughbeam operating modes.
