The Type 9211BE from Kistler North America, Novi, MI, is a miniature quartz force sensor with single-wire technology, designed for high-reliability dynamic and quasi-static mold cavity measurements up to 3000 bar over a range of 0–2500 N, in support of demanding plastics injection molding operations. The piezoelectric sensor is 6 mm in dia. and converts the high-resolution force sensor charge output into a proportional output voltage up to 10 V. Single-wire cables transmit the necessary electrical charge with required shielding provided by the injection mold itself, with cables and connectors integrated into the mold.
