Weighing 23 g, the 3DM-GX3-35 from MicroStrain Inc., Williston, VT, is a miniature device that incorporates a high-quality attitude heading reference system (AHRS) and an onboard GPS receiver. The device can independently provide time-correlated measurements suited for applications where you are implementing your own host-based GPS/INS Kalman filter and is also fully calibrated, and temperature compensated over its –40°C to 65°C operating range. You can specify sensor ranges including ±5 g, ±1.7 g, ±16 g, or ±50 g for the accelerometers and 50°/s, 300°/s, 600°/s, and 1200°/s for the angular rate sensors. A new synchronized time-stamping feature provides attitude and GPS data correlated in time.
