Touted as the best available insulator material, muscovite mica, a.k.a., potassium aluminosilicate, is available from the company in sheet form. Mica is a naturally occurring mineral that can be split into thin uniform layers. Transparent and resistant to high temperatures, mica is chemically inert to most substances, Also, it is a good electrical insulator as well as a good thermal conductor. Clear ruby mica sheets are available ranging in thickness from 0.012 mm to 0.15 mm. Clear green mica sheets are on tap measuring 0.15-mm thick. Other thicknesses are available upon request.
