MEMS Pellistor from SGX Sensortech

The MP-7217 from SGX Sensortech (IS) Ltd., Chelmsford, U.K., is a MEMS-based, low-power, and rugged pellistor for the detection of combustible gases and methane in particular. The sensors have a micron silicon heater design that delivers improved resistance to shock. The sensor can be housed within a plug-in sensor head that can fit into existing designs of portable gas detectors; the MP-7217 base sensor can be incorporated within a new product. The sensor is 14.4 by 6.7 mm, draws 110 mW during continuous operation, is poison-resistant to both HMDS and H₂S, has a low orientation effect, and is ATEX certified.
