Designed for medical applications, the MIS2DH three-axis accelerometer is described as an off-the-shelf solution that can enable functions such as activity monitoring and posture sensing to be included in a wide range of medical applications. This includes implantable medical devices such as cardiac pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators, and neurostimulators. Features of the sensor include a footprint measuring 2 mm x 2 mm x 1 mm3, a power consumption down to 2 μA in low-power mode), measurement ranges of ±2g/±4g/±8g/±16g selectable full-scale, 8-, 10-, and 12-bit operating modes, 1 Hz to 5 kHz output data rate, a FIFO buffer and programmable interrupt, I2C/SPI digital outputs, and a 1.71V to 3.6V operating voltage.
