Magnetostrictive Position Sensor from MTS

The Temposonics MT position sensor from MTS Systems Corp., Sensor Div., Cary, NC, is designed to be embedded in welded and tie-rod style cylinders or other space-limited cylinder applications. Measuring range is 50–1500 mm with linearity <0.04% and repeatability <0.005%. Each measurement system comprises a basic sensor element and evaluation electronics with separate output signal and supply voltage. Both sensor elements are housed in a standard-sized pressure-resistant SS pipe. The redundant sensor output lets you check position measurement validity; alternatively you can check the difference between measured position values.
