The Leine & Linde MRI 2000 from Heidenhain Corp., Schaumburg, IL, is a magnetic ring encoder that is segmented to let you more easily mount the device on a shaft. You can fix the ring to the shaft through flange mounting with axial screws or by Leine & Linde's ClampFit solution. With ClampFit, the ring segments are screwed together in a way that automatically tightens the ring around the mating shaft. The speed pickup unit is available with several standard interfaces for incremental signals. High Current HTL and Optolink have been designed for long-distance transmission.
