RoHS-compliant KX magnetic encoders from Admotec Inc., Lebanon, NH, offer resolution up to 45,000 cpr, max. speed up to 100,000 rpm, accuracy of 4 arc-minutes and immunity to dust, dirt, oil, water, and other contaminants. The KXL and KXS Series devices replace the company's K Series encoders. KXL encoders operate with an air gap up to 3 mm between wheel and sensor; KXS encoders offer higher accuracy and resolution but with a 0.3 mm air gap. A once/rev. index or Z output is available, as are common binary, angular, and decimal resolutions up to 45,000 cpr on a variety of fixed wheel diameters. Applications include motor feedback, angle measurement, and machine synchronization.
