As an automated world becomes more of reality, machine vision technologies will play an important role in many applications including artificial intelligence applications. Machine-vision expert Cognex will soon be demonstrating its latest barcode reading, inspection, and 3D vision systems at PACK EXPO in Las Vegas, Nevada.
First up is a conveyor employing four different Cognex platforms. It can inspect and identify different aspects of a beverage six-pack using the company’s In-Sight 2000 and In-Sight 7000 vision sensors, DS1000 3D displacement sensor, and the DataMan 262 barcode reader.
The DS1000 3D displacement sensor will provide high-accuracy volume calculation of food portions in trays as well as flexible inspection of all tray colors and sizes.
