LVIT Inductive Linear Sensors Take On High Pressure Chores
Alliance Sensors Group

The SS-7 series linear variable inductive transducer (LVIT) is designed for subsea environments and the demands of oil and gas exploration. It embeds into a hydraulic cylinder and utilizes the gun-drilled piston rod as a target, sensing its position without the need for a magnet. The SS-7 series can be submerged to a depth of 12,000 ft. or installed in a pressure-balanced, oil-filled chamber to provide position feedback on blowout preventers, ROVs, and relief valves. Features include:
- Uses Piston Rod as target
- 316 Stainless Steel 25mm diameter housing
- Measurement ranges from 1 to 24 inches (25 to 600 mm)
- Operates to 5200 psi or 12,000 feet (3000 m) depth
- Contactless; no wear-out
- DC voltage or current analog output
- SenSet Field Adjustable Scaling
