Low-Profile Photocoupler Delivers Transistor Output

For space-limited designs, the TLP385 photocoupler comes in a four-pin SO6L package measuring 2.3 mm in height, said to be 45% lower than DIP4 packages. Providing a transistor output and a creepage and clearance distance of 8 mm, the photocoupler features an isolation voltage of 5 kVrms and an operating temperature range from -55º to +110ºC. Specs include a current transfer ratio of 50 to 600% at IF=5mA, VCE=5V and a turn-off time of 40 µs at IF=16 mA.
