The 1000 and 1100 Series of low-profile incremental rotary encoders from Heidenhain Corp., Schaumburg, IL, have block commutation tracks and are suitable for use in small-dimensioned servo motors. The encoders have an industry-standard 35 mm housing diameter and feature opto-ASIC-based photoelectric scanning with integrated interpolation and TTL-level output with differential signals for connection to most standard electronics for control of digitally-controlled servo motors.
