The 700 Series linear position sensors operate reliably in extreme environments such as down-hole oil well applications at temperatures between -40°C and over +200°C and pressures up to 30,000 psi. Employing a conductive plastic resistive element, the components are said to exhibit a longer operating life and resolution than traditional wire-wound units. Other features include a travel of +0.2 in. minimum, an actuation force of 2 oz. maximum, repeatability within 0.001 in., lifespan up to 5 x 105 cycles, total resistance of 1.23 kΩ/in., and a resistance tolerance of ±25%.
