GEMCO 953S Series VMax linear displacement transducers from AMETEK Automation & Process Technologies, Clawson, MI, are magnetostrictive devices that offer a high-resolution synchronous serial interface (SSI) output and a Mill Duty housing. The digital position sensor offers accurate, reliable position indication with resolution up to 1 µm and a stable position feedback for cable runs up to 365 m from the controller. The Mill Duty housing is offered in lengths from 5.08 cm to >6.1 m. Suited for demanding process automation applications, such as steel mills and tire rubber manufacturing, the sensors are shock resistant to 1000 G, vibration-resistant to 30 G, and is IP68-rated.
