Lights! Camera! Conveyor Belt?

While choosing the right camera and software is vital to any machine vision setup, lighting is another integral part of the equation. And correctly lighting parts as they whiz past on a conveyor is not necessarily straightforward. But what if your light source was built into your conveyor? The AccuVision internal backlit conveyor from Conveyor Technologies Ltd. uses an internal lighting system to project a strong uniform light field through a translucent belt on a low-profile conveyor.

Available in three light tones (warm white, cool white, and daylight) and with a color-rendering index of 82+, AccuVision uses electronic high-frequency ballasts for compatibility with high-speed digital cameras. The light field is available in lengths from 7–32 in.

Charles Mitchell, president of Conveyor Technologies notes, "AccuVision's strong uniform light field and controlled movement can assist in achieving defect-free products by facilitating more accurate and greater rates of visual inspections with sensors, cameras, and even the human eye."
