The MC420 liquid level sensor from
MTS Systems Corp., Sensors Div., Cary, NC, is available in a limited variety of predetermined lengths, from 20 in. to 18 ft., and is packaged with its own float and its own magnet for ease of calibration. The magnetostrictive sensor has only one moving part (the float). MC420 level transmitters offer 4–20 mA loop-powered circuitry and calibration using the supplied magnet or via the HART interface. Applications include general process control, batching tanks, inorganic chemicals, detergents and soaps, lubricating oils, and interface measurement.
